Dinner Dishes that Beat the Heat

I don’t know about you, but on a hot weather day trying to put together an evening meal is the last thing I really want to do. The heat is tiring, so by evening I have little energy to give for a complicated meal. Plus, I don’t want to heat up my kitchen using the oven or cook top, the air conditioning is working hard enough to keep the house cool.

For a hot summer day, I pull out one of my handy-dandy convenience appliances to make dinner easy and delicious. Work smarter, not harder, right? Think Instant Pot, Air Fryer, and Crock Pot. These are designed to make meal time easier by cutting down on the cook time, saving energy, and offering easy cleanup.

Here are a few ideas to give a try!

Instant Pot

Consider using your Instant Pot to make rice for a Black Bean Buddha Bowl . Save time by picking up a container of fresh salsa and guacamole.

Air Fryer

Cook bacon in your Air Fryer for a quick traditional BLT Sandwich. I like to elevate my BLT by adding turkey breast and sliced avocado offering more protein and healthy fats making it a filling meal. Try this Roasted Turkey and Avocado BLT.

Crock Pot

Make BBQ chicken in your Crock Pot and throw together Jalapeno Lime Slaw as a topping. Use a bag of cabbage and carrots mix found in your produce section to save you time and energy.

Give yourself a break, you deserve it!
